Another wonderfully entertaining Jackson Brodie mystery. Although Jackson is involved in much of the book, the retired police superintendent Tracy Waterhouse could be the main protagonist. Status of women, culture of Britain, and of the police in the 70's looms large, and Tracy copes so admirably. As always, the other characters in the story are gradually developed, we learn more and more about them, and they are multidimensional, make a very rich story. Great book, can't help loving the Ambassador and Courtney. I hope that Atkinson comes back to weave the several intriguing loose ends in another Jackson Brodie novel.
