Kill Decision - Daniel Suarez Yes, this was fun to read, and yes, I learned something about swarming activity and ants. The thought in the book jacket blurb that Suarez is the heir to Crichton rings true, but this is not an unalloyed complement, and this book is a case in point. The story is more than a bit thin, the tech idea behind the action is only partially developed, and does not carry the reputed problem-solving character of swarming behavior forward.

However, the implications of what is developed are, as is often the case with sci-fi, truly scary, and may be, as has been the case in the past, prescient.
