This second book of the series, exploring the evolution of the Webmind, was more enjoyable for me than the first. I found the weaving together of the unusual plots of the first very entertaining, and surprising. And the overall tone seemed less preachy than the first book. I was startled to hear Caitlin going on at length about the science of the web, in the middle of her first heavy make out session with her boyfriend, especially when the prior book and previous part of this book go on at length to demonstrate that Caitlin, in spite of being a math prodigy is also a 16 year old suffused with adolescent hormones. Incongruous, and not believable.
Overall, entertaining, fun, and left me looking forward to the third volume.
